Two model homes show the difference preparation can make during a flood. Custom built for Cornwall Council, this exhibit uses moving water to explain flood resilience through a direct, side-by-side comparison.
One home demonstrates protective measures while the other represents a property without those precautions. The exhibit introduces devices such as one-way air bricks and pump systems, allowing visitors to compare how the two situations respond.
Pumps move water through the model to give the demonstration a sense of realism. The house models, interpretation panels and water system make a complex subject visible within a visitor-facing display. The exhibit is an educational demonstration of the supplied scenarios.

The side-by-side arrangement is central to the flood resilience display. Showing two homes within one model lets visitors compare the scenarios while the water system is operating, then return to the interpretation to understand the differences. Bespoke model making and moving water make an otherwise difficult-to-picture subject visible, giving educators a shared reference for explaining preparation and resilience.
